For sometime, I have accepted "sponsored posts," from advertisers. Some of these advertisers were opposed to my beliefs. To my shame, I accepted their money. As, I grew more desirous of growing this blog into a full time gig, I accepted more and more of these type of posts. The problem, the more I accepted the more my blog looked like spam. That, was one thing I hated more then anything else. Since, I hate spam, as much as most anyone else.
You, my readers told me about it. You, called me on the carpet for it. I appreciated that. Many of the same people that complained, were also the people that thought I should start considering accepting them. The problem is, as I said, it mad my blog look like trash. I am sorry for that.
So, after much thought and prayer, I have decided to refuse any more "sponsored posts," especially those from Blogsvertise.
As for most, of my reviews, they will be done at my opinion nlog, KevinsView.com. The exception to this, will be financially related products like the recent book that I reviewed. In addition since, it is a workbook of sorts, I will be doing each of the assignments (journal entries) and posting each of them on this blog, so that you my readers can learn from my own personal missteps.
I will also say, that I am an associate of amazon.com, and a portion of any amazon.com purchases that you make through my links, do come back to me. That is true for both my blogs, and the new one that is in the works. Now, without the "sponsored posts" the only other forms of monetizing are the google adsense and direct sponsorship.
This wasn't an easy decision, but it is an important one. I want this blog to be friendly to all my readers and not have a spamy look. It is important to me, because I appreciate each and everyone of you. I'm sorry for accepting "sponsored posts," and I promise I won't do it again. Thank you for understanding. I will get better at this blogging thing. Just like each of our lives, it is a work in progress.
