Albert Sidney Johnston Statue

Full-length standing portrait of General Albert Sidney Johnston, turning slightly to his proper right. The Civil War hero wears a long uniform double-breasted coat with belt, boots and gauntlet gloves. He holds a hat in his proper right hand; and his proper left hand rests on a sword which hangs from his belt. He has a moustache and beard. He stands atop a stepped granite base.¹

The inscription on the granite base: ALBERT SIDNEY JOHNSTON /1803-1862/SECRETARY OF WAR/OF THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS/BRIGADIER GENERAL/IN THE UNITED STATES ARMY/GENERAL IN THE/CONFEDERATE STATES ARMY/COMMANDER OF THE ARMY/OF THE MISSISSIPPI.
